About this school
US Aviation Academy's Minneapolis campus is an FAA Part 147 aviation maintenance school based at Anoka County–Blaine Airport (ANE) in Blaine, Minnesota, about 20 minutes north of downtown Minneapolis. It's the academy's Upper Midwest A&P location and the only one serving the Minneapolis–St. Paul market, which is a significant advantage given that MSP is one of Delta's major hubs — the campus leans heavily on Delta's regional demand for mechanics as a hiring outlet for graduates. The program follows the network's accelerated, tools-included model on two tracks: an 8-month accelerated day program (full-time at 36 hours a week, Monday–Friday) and a 16-month semi-full-time night program (about 26 hours a week, Monday–Thursday evenings). Both cover the FAA General, Airframe, and Powerplant subject areas (General Technician, Airframe Parts 1–2, Powerplant Parts 1–2) and prepare students for the three FAA written exams plus the oral and practical. New classes start every month, so there's minimal wait to begin. This campus has the most transparent cost breakdown of the network: the advertised $36,000 tuition is stated to include the tools used during training, digital textbooks on a provided Chromebook, first attempts at the three FAA written exams, and the first attempt at the oral and practical — meaning several costs that other schools bill separately are bundled in. As across the academy, graduates plug into the same airline pipeline programs (United, Southwest, Envoy, Republic, SkyWest, GoJet, Mountain Air Cargo) and are pointed toward maintenance roles at legacy and charter carriers, repair stations, and cargo operators regionally and nationwide. Civilian financing runs through Sallie Mae, Ascent, Climb, ZuntaFi, and Stratus. One important distinction: the Minneapolis campus is not VA-approved and cannot currently accept VA education benefits for training. For veterans planning to use the GI Bill or VR&E, that rules this campus out for benefit-funded training — they'd need to choose a VA-approved US Aviation campus such as Denton, San Marcos, or Atlanta.
