Aircraft maintenance in Kentucky
Kentucky is a major air-cargo state, anchored by two of the largest freight operations in the world. UPS runs its Worldport global air hub at Louisville — one of the biggest automated package facilities anywhere — driving enormous demand for A&P mechanics on a large widebody freighter fleet. Separately, DHL operates a major hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky (CVG) just across the river.
Between UPS Louisville and DHL at CVG, Kentucky offers some of the most concentrated cargo-maintenance demand per capita in the country, with premium pay scales typical of freight operators. The state's low cost of living further boosts effective take-home.
Kentucky's Part 147 schools run through its community and technical college system (KCTCS), with programs around Louisville and the eastern part of the state. Most are VA-approved and affordable.
