About this school

The Aviation Technology Academy at Des Moines Public Schools' Central Campus is the only high school FAA-certificated Part 147 program in the Midwest. Its Aviation Maintenance track, located at 201 County Line Road on the south side of Des Moines, lets students earn high school credit and FAA-certified training toward an Airframe Mechanic certificate; a separate Private Pilot Ground School track at 1800 Grand Avenue prepares students for the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test.
